The "Ridders Fresh" story is one of two respected and successful family business's joining forces to bring the consumer a wealth of knowledge and expertise. With origins dating back to 1959 our new company is under the guidance of its three directors Stephen Moss, Paul Moss and Andrew Ridder. They are all hands on and only to pleased to make themselves available at any time.

Ridders Fresh brings together "J&L Meats" a well respected pork wholesaler whose customers included leading supermarket chains, butcher shops and other manufacturers across Australia with "Ridder/Dyson" smallgoods an innovative leader in the smallgoods industry who have produced top quality hams, bacon and beef products since 1959.

Our state of the art manufacturing and boning facility in Clayton produces product of acknowledged industry high standards to meet the ever increasing requirements of not only health and food safety but to enable us to promote confidence in our products to our ever growing customer base.

Ridders Fresh has ongoing training programs for all employees who actively participate in all areas of our business.

The directors Stephen, Paul and Andrew have a vision for the future of Ridders Fresh, quite simply we want to instill the confidence in everyone that a Ridders Fresh product is of the highest possible quality produced under the strictest of supervision to ensure our customers receive the safest best product available.

1959 Gus Ridder Smallgoods was born. Run by Gus & his sons - Andrew & Paul.


  1973 Gus Ridder Smallgoods acquires Dyson Brothers in Clayton to form Ridder Dyson Smallgoods.


  1977 J&L Meats Prahran Market was born.
Retail butcher shop owned by Jeff Moss & his sons Stephen & Paul.


  1989 J&L Meats begins wholesale pork division selling product into leading supermarket chains, butchers and the manufacturing industry.


1999 Ridder Dyson & J&L Meats merge to bring you Ridders Fresh.
